Year 7 / 8 super hero wanted!

We currently have over 400 students and are growing fast! We plan, teach and learn collaboratively in our incredible, purpose-built flexible learning environment.

We are looking for someone to join our team on a fixed term contract for 2018 while one of our team steps up to a different role for a year.

Sorry, we are not able to offer interviews to beginning teachers this time around.

If you are an amazing teacher who is excited about working in a collaborative team, has an understanding of co-teaching, is committed to growing your practice, believes in restorative practice, understands your responsibilities to culturally responsive teaching, naturally embraces student agency, strong IT skills and are a true team player – we need to hear from you!

…we like to have fun too, so it is important that you can sumo wrestle, like water fights and having fun while you work - and it’s important that you take your morning tea shout duties seriously!

Sound good?  If these roles tick your boxes, and you think you might tick ours - please get in touch with our Principal's PA, Micky, to request a job package.  micky@pegasusbay.school.nz

Applications close on Wednesday 6 December at 3pm.
We are always on the lookout for experienced relief teachers!  Please get in touch if you would like to be added to our relief teacher list.

A little bit about us....
We are a purpose built MLE school, the first to be built as part of the Canterbury rebuild. Prior to moving to our new school site at the beginning of Term 2, 2014, the school was located in Waikuku, and celebrated its 140th anniversary there in 2013.

All our children and teachers are in Learning Communities (LCs). Each LC operates with a team of up to five teachers.

All LCs have a specific identity that relates to our local environment. Our children learn the story attached to their LC and are encouraged to grow their knowledge and interest in the specific local environments.

We are a zero-net energy school, and have a strong focus on eco awareness.   Our vision is to challenge and inspire adventurers, creators and thinkers.
We are passionate about collaborative teaching and learning, place based learning, and nurturing our kids to be Kaitiaki (guardians).

We place huge value on engaging our community in all aspects of school life.   We have over 400 students and a rapidly growing roll.

We think our school is an extremely exciting and rewarding place to teach and learn. If you are totally committed to working in a dynamic team environment where reflection and continual growth is not just expected, it is demanded then keep an eye on this page!
